American Red Cross - Hurricane Katrina Relief

The year 2005 proved to be a devastating hurricane season for the gulf coast. The magnitude of Hurricane Katrina completely destroyed cities and took the lives of hundreds of citizens. The Resurgens' family wanted to assist in the relief efforts to help the communities and citizens who tragically lost everything. The initial goal was to raise money from the physicians and staff with the Foundation providing a dollar per dollar donation match. Through this effort, we successfully raised over $50,000, which was donated directly to the American Red Cross for their Hurricane Relief Fund.

Several Resurgens employees also provided housing to Hurricane Katrina families who had lost their homes. Resurgens' Charitable Foundation donated over $3,000.00 to assist these families with their immediate disaster relief needs.

In the aftermath of the hurricanes, Resurgens physicians provided healthcare assistance to displaced families and individuals suffering from hurricane related injuries and post-operative healthcare needs. The physicians donated their time and expertise, treating these injuries pro bono.

It is with great pride that our organization was able to assist these families and fellow citizens in their time of need.
