$10,000 Donation to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation

Funds to Support Foundation's Early Childhood Wellness Program

The Resurgens Charitable Foundation recently announced its plans to donate $10,000 to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation. The funds will support the Foundation's Early Childhood Wellness Program.

"We are pleased to help with this initiative and support health education for parents and very young children," said Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick, president of Resurgens Charitable Foundation.

The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing health, hope, and happiness to children through philanthropic and volunteer support for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The Foundation works with individual donors, charitable foundations, and corporations to enhance medical services and programs, and to help care for children whose families could not otherwise afford to pay. In 2008, Children's provided $103 million in unreimbursed costs of care to patients and families in need who could otherwise not afford it.

Resurgens Charitable Foundation, whose mission is "to support our community with the opportunities to play, to heal, to learn, and to live," was formed in 2001 with a fund raising effort in response to the terrorist attacks on September 11th. Since then, it has evolved to focus on youth health and fitness, raising funds to build specially designed "all abilities" playgrounds for children in the metropolitan Atlanta area. A major goal of the Foundation is to support construction of at least one of these playgrounds a year.
